Florida Department Of Health Women’s Health, The Florida Department of Health (FDOH) celebrates March as National Nutrition Month®, which is sponsored annually by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. For this year’s theme, FDOH is encouraging Floridians to “Enjoy More Fruits and Vegetables.” An easy way to build a healthy plate is to make half your plate fruits and vegetables. It is also a great way to add color, flavor, and texture plus vitamins, minerals and fiber. All these benefits are packed in fruits and vegetables that are also low in calories and fat.

Family Planning
Florida’s family planning and related preventive health services are available to both males and females, including teens, in all 67 counties through the local county health departments or contracted agencies. Family planning services are provided on a voluntary basis in a confidential manner. Culturally sensitive information and the value of planning your pregnancies are available in order to make an informed decision regarding the use of birth control.
Pregnancy
Pregnancy—If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant there are steps you can take to ensure a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. The healthier you are, the better chance you have of your baby being born healthy.
WIC
WIC is a federally funded nutrition program for Women, Infants, and Children. WIC provides the following at no cost: healthy foods, nutrition education and counseling, breastfeeding support, and referrals for health care.
