Department Of Tourism Transport And Sport, The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport was established in 2011. It has a key role in delivering highly critical aspects of Ireland’s economic activity including further development of our transport infrastructure and services and the support and enhancement of our significant tourism and sports sectors.

Our Minister
Shane Ross, T.D., was appointed as Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport from 6 May 2016.
He was first elected as an Independent Senator for Trinity College Dublin in 1981, and was subsequently re-elected nine times. In the 2011 General Election, he was elected as an Independent TD for Dublin South and subsequently elected in the 2016 General Election to represent the newly configured Dublin Rathdown constituency.
Shane Ross is a columnist for a Sunday newspaper, an author and a qualified stockbroker. He was educated at St Stephen’s School, Dundrum; Rugby School; Trinity College Dublin (studying History and Politics), and the University of Geneva.
