Department of IPID Mafikeng, Mahikeng, formerly and still commonly known as Mafikeng and historically Mafeking in English , is the capital city of the North-West Province of South Africa. It is best known internationally for the Siege of Mafeking, the most famous engagement of the Second Boer War.
