Department Of Basic Education Uttarakhand, Uttarakhand Board of School Education. UBSE is an agency of Government of Uttarakhand entrusted with the responsibilities of prescribing courses of instructions and text books and conducting examinations for secondary school students in Uttarakhand. It was set up in 2001 and has its headquarters in Ramnagar. At present more than 10,000 schools are affiliated with the Board. The Board sets up over 1,300 examination centres for over 300,000 examinees every year.

In Uttarakhand Department of education has a unified structure covering basic education, secondary education,State council of education researchand training, Uttarakhand board of school education and exams are working under the umbrella of Directorate of School Education . A project for universalisation of elementry education, SSA and literacy mission are running under Uttarakhand Sabhi ke Liye Shiksha Parisad. Department of Education has achieved various targets under and beyondthe plan. The Directorate of School Education was established in Dehradun after creation of Uttarakhand, now its running at Nanoorkhera,Nalapani Road, P.O.- Tapovan, Dehradun.
