Department Of Agriculture Forestry And Fisheries Director General

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mzamo Michael Mlengana (Mike) as the new Director-General of the department.

Mr Mlengana has proven himself as a farmer and leader leading the smallholder farmers at the African Farmer’s Association of South Africa (AFASA) where he was the president. He also brings experience from his previous top management positions both from private and public owned entities.

Furthermore, Mr Mlengana has operated a commercial farm and worked with both smallholder and established farmers. He is a Fulbright Scholar with an MA Degree in Financial Economics and Economic Development from the Graduate School of Economics and International Studies in Denver, Colorado, USA.

He is married to Ms Patience Mlengana and they have three children.
