Department Of Human Settlements Rustenburg, Rustenburg is a city at the foot of the Magaliesberg mountain range in North West Province of South Africa. It was one of the official host cities of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, being in close proximity to Phokeng, the capital of the Royal Bafokeng Nation, where the Royal Bafokeng Stadium is located. The England national football team also used this as their base camp for the tournament.

Overview

The mission of the North West Department of Local Government and Human Settlements is to effectively plan, coordinate, provide and support the development of habitable integrated human settlement in the province.

The Department’s strategic goals are to ensure provision of effective and efficient administrative support and direction to the Department; ensure effective and efficient research, policy development, planning, monitoring and evaluation; and ensure provision of habitable and sustainable human settlements.
