Department Of Home Affairs Nelspruit, Nelspruit (also known by its official name, Mbombela) is a city in northeastern South Africa. It is the capital of the Mpumalanga province. Located on the Crocodile River, Mbombela lies about 110 kilometres (68 mi) by road west of the Mozambique border, 330 kilometres (210 mi) east of Johannesburg and about 82 kilometres (51 mi) North of the Swaziland border.

We are a government/public organisation. We determine and confirm the status of persons by providing enabling documents in the interest of promoting and protecting the national integrity. This includes, but is not limited to, registration of births, deaths, provision of identity documentation and passports. Our national hotline is 0800 601 190. We operate between 07:30 and 16:00 from Monday to Friday. On Saturday we are open between 08:00 and 13:00. Fees are applicable for some of our services.
