Department Of Basic Education Cape Town
The Western Cape Education Department is responsible for public schooling in the province from grades 1 to 12. We provide specialized education services, among others, and subsidize and support Grade R education. We also provide Further Education and Training (FET) and Adult Basic Education and Training (ABET).
The Western Cape Government creates laws for and provides services to the people of the Western Cape. We work closely with the national government and municipalities in the Western Cape to ensure that the citizens of the province have access to the services, facilities, and information they need.
