Gsis Hong Kong, One school – two systems. The German Swiss International School Hong Kong (GSIS) was established in 1969 by German Swiss families who were looking for a bilingual German-English education in an international setting. From these early beginnings, GSIS has grown into one of the leading international schools in Hong Kong. The school’s main campus is strategically located in the picturesque and prestigious setting of The Peak, Hong Kong.
The school offers education in two streams from kindergarten to secondary school, following the German and British school systems. We are supported by the German and Swiss governments. More than 1,300 students from over 30 countries are taught by a committed team of highly-qualified teachers from German and English-speaking countries.

Part of the network of German International Schools in the Asia-Pacific region, the German Swiss International School is a selective international school offering a rigorous and challenging learning environment to students from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
- We strive for academic excellence and prepare our students to take the German International Abitur (German stream) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma (English stream), paving their way to leading universities around the world.
- We encourage multilingualism. German and English serve as first languages in the respective streams. A particular emphasis is put on the learning of German, working towards the German Sprachdiplom I and II examinations in the English stream.We provide an environment in which students of diverse backgrounds learn to communicate effectively in these languages. In addition, second languages including Putonghua, French and Latin are offered.

Peak Campus
In 1969, GSIS first opened its doors to 73 students in a house at 1 Barker Rd, The Peak. In view of growing student numbers, the school relocated some or all of its classes multiple times until 1975 when the school was able to open its first school building on Guildford Road. Today the Peak campus comprises three buildings, including the Upper Building, Middle Building and Lower Building.
Pok Fu Lam Campus
Pok Fu Lam campus is the permanent home of the Kindergarten, Lower Primary (DVOR and Y01) and Business College.
