Department Of Traditional Affairs Bisho, The mission of the Eastern Cape Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs is to promote a developmental local state and traditional institutions that are accountable, focused on citizen’s priorities, and capable of delivering high-quality services consistently and sustainably through local government and participatory democracy.
The Department’s strategic goals are to: build an effective and improving department; strengthen municipal institutional capacity to promote good governance and effective service delivery; have enabling viable, sustainable developmental municipalities that deliver basic services; and improve the developmental capacity of the traditional leadership institutions for rural development.
