Department Of Science And Technology Internships 2016/17, the mission of the Department of Science and Technology (DST) is to provide leadership, an enabling environment and resources for science, technology and innovation in support of South Africa’s development.
DST is inviting currently unemployed graduates to submit applications to participate in a 12-month internship programme at the DST, one of the country’s best performing government departments. The programme runs from 1 April 2016 to 31 March 2017 at our head office in Pretoria.
Salary: R60 000 per annum
Internships are available in the following fields of study:
- Bachelor’s or honours degree in science, engineering, economics or public management (1 Post)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or natural sciences (1 Post)
- National diploma in public administration or events management (1 Post)
- Degree in social or natural sciences (1 Post)
- National diploma in public administration (1 Post)
- Bachelor’s degree in natural sciences, accounting, administration, risk management, economics or statistics (3 Posts)
- Honours or master’s degree in natural sciences/ engineering (3 Posts)
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials science or engineering (2 Posts)
- National diploma/degree in public administration (4 Posts)
- BSc in biotechnology (1 Post)
- BSc in physics (2 Posts)
- LIB (1 Post)
- LlB, BAdmin, BCom (1 Post)
- National diploma or degree in human resource management/development (1 Post)
- Bachelor’s degree in social science (1 Post)
- Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science or social science (7 Posts)
- LlB, BCom Law, BCom Finance or other degree in business administration, law or business management, or a BA in marketing or economics (6 Posts)
- Postgraduates in STI, Humanities, Social Sciences, Economics or Statistics (1 Post)
- Degree/diploma in development studies or BCom in auditing (1 Post)
- National diploma in public relations or marketing (1 Post)
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, natural or social sciences (1 Post)
- BSc in biotechnology (1 Post)
Requirements
- To apply you must be an unemployed graduate between the ages of 18 and 35, with the relevant qualification from a recognised higher education institution.
- Preference will be given to South African citizens.
- Only those who have never participated in a government internship programme may apply.
