Core Functions: Government Infrastructure Operations |
|
Government Infrastructure Operations is divided into the following programmes: |

Design and Construction |
|
The sub programme renders an expert built environment function that involves technical planning, design, and construction management of building infrastructure, as per client’s requests. The sub programmes renders its functions within the ambit of the infrastructure development improvement programme (IDIP) whose goal is to improve effectiveness and efficiency of delivery of provincial public sector infrastructure through institutionalizing best practice tools and building capacity. |

Properties and Facilities |
|
The Maintenance sub-programme is responsible for the maintenance of government owned buildings including gardens and grounds. This includes residential accommodation used by members of the Provincial Legislature as well as others which accommodate government officials in the main. |

Expanded Public Works Programme |
|
The levels of unemployment and poverty compelled government to introduce the Expanded Public Works Programme as one of the range programmes aimed at addressing these problems. This is a Programme which is aimed at the promotion of skills development and labour intensive methods. |

Roads Infrastructure |
|
The programme promotes accessibility, affordable and safe movement of people, goods and services through the construction and maintenance of roads infrastructure. |
